Raj Mohini Devi College of Agriculture and Research Station, Ambikapur was established on 20th September, 2001 as a constituent college of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur. Before this, the institute functioned as Zonal Agricultural Research Station (ZARS) from 22nd January, 1982.

About Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV)
Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) is a premier agricultural university located in Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh state in central India. Established on January 20, 1987, IGKV operates under the Act No. 20 of 1987 of the State Legislature to provide a new dimension to agricultural education and research in the region. Raj Mohini Devi College of Agriculture & Research Station
RMDCARS, established on September 20, 2001, at Ambikapur in Surguja district, Chhattisgarh, stands as a constituent college of IGKV. The college is named after Rajmohini Devi, a renowned social worker and Gandhian who founded the Bapu Dharma Sabha Adivasi Seva Mandal and worked tirelessly for the welfare of tribal communities. The Government of India honored Rajmohini Devi with the Padma Shri in 1989 for her exceptional social contributions.
Before its transformation into a full-fledged college, the institute functioned as the Zonal Agricultural Research Station (ZARS) from January 22, 1982, conducting need-based research and extension activities for the region. The college’s campus spans 50.44 hectares in Village Ajirma, providing excellent facilities for agricultural education and research.
The institution offers Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Agriculture and Master of Science programs in Agricultural specializations, equipping students with practical skills and theoretical knowledge to excel in agricultural entrepreneurship and extension work.
